You are bidding on an extremely rare Left Hand Drive Forward Control 101 Landrover. This particular derivative is known as the V.A.M.P.I.R.E:

Of the four production Landrover 101FC body styles, the Vampire is by far the rarest.  It is thought that only 18 were built and fewer than half of this number still exist.

The vehicle's purpose was to identify the origin of enemy radio signals. Vampires operated in teams of 3 which would erect their antennas in different remote locations and then use a method of radio triangulation to locate signal sources.  Vampires could also operate individually by setting up additional antennas that were carried in a specialized Sankey Trailer remotely. 

The walls are fully insulated and the rear is able to be blacked out for obvious tactical reasons.
The vehicle is 24VDC and features a transmission winch.   The body was built by Marshalls of Cambridge.

It is Direct from the MOD and has no warranty and has not been checked by our workshops. We have not started or tested the vehicle. The first date into service was 01/07/75 and the speedo reads 10,960 miles, which cannot be verified for accuracy.
