This Reynolds Boughton RB44 was developed as a cargo/troop carrier and to tow 105 artillery pieces. They can traverse and access terrain that defeats most other wheeled vehicles.
The high ground clearance, powerful 110hp Perkins engine and combination of four wheel drive with hi/low ratios and centre diff lock in the transfer box makes this virtually unstoppable. This vehicle is in good running order, all the gears, clutch and mechanical systems operate normally. It may require new batteries. You will see on the photos that the paintwork is in need of some attention, however the metal body is solid. This auction is a chance to aquire one of these capable vehicles at a price that you can easily afford. The military rate it as a 2ton load carrier. The speedometer shows 16,629 although we cannot verify this accuracy. The first date into service was 25th March 1992.
To obtain a civilian registration number, we give you the necessary military release form. You will then need to mot and insure the Boughton and present the documents to your local DVLA Office. It is recommended that the vehicle is serviced prior to use. Vat will be added to final bid price at the current rate.
The specifications show that when supplied to the army they were listed at 101 kph. Brakes are hydraulic with servo system. Length 5.27m. Width 2.12. Height2.52. Weight unloaded 2700kg. Loaded 5300kg. Approach angle 45 degrees.
